Hey, I know that guy!!!

Recently one of my great friends has gone completely viral online.  While stranded overnight in the Las Vegas airport he created a hilarious lip syncing video to Celine Dion's "All by Myself", which he indeed, brilliantly produce all by himself using his iphone and some creative help from airport escalators and moving sidewalks. He's been featured on  TV by Good Morning America, CNN and TMZ to name a few amongst countless online and newspaper articles by the likes of Rollingstone, People, Time, Buzzfeed...you name em'.....they've featured him! Celine herself has even sent him a personal message and will host the "Lonely Airport Guy" (or Richard as I know him) at her Vegas show. Its been so hilarious and exciting to watch this go from another one of Rich's "funny little videos" to an internet phenomena with over 17 million views and counting!!!

Uncle Si Robertson

I am finally able to post about a couple of cool opportunities I had this past year.

Last winter I posted online, a drawing of Duck Dynasty's Uncle Si Robertson. It then got passed around a little bit through different social media sites. Then, one day last summer I received an e-mail from Duck Commander stating that Uncle Si himself would like to use my work on customized t-shirts for his 8 grandsons. They liked it enough that they commissioned me again early this spring to create a t-shirt design for a fundraiser that Si was involved with. They sent me some nice photos, the shirt signed, a signed copy of Si-cology 101 and a nice Thank-you note. Being a fan, and considering he's the star of one of the biggest shows on TV, Im pretty thrilled about it all!

My beloved Detroit Red Wings are a hurting unit this season. They have so many injured players, including their biggest stars! Predictably, with so many guys out in such a tight playoff race, they are in danger of missing the playoffs altogether for the first time since 1990. But, as I always like to say, "It aint over til its over!!!"

I am currently learning Adobe Illustrator with the help of lynda.com. I cannot say enough great things about that website! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn pretty much anything design or technology related. They have so many tutorials, it seems like there is nothing they don't cover. Anyway, this is my first completed illustrator project. Its for my brother's church. Jonah is the theme.....obviously:)
