ARTIE

Artie
Airplane Artie

Artie's Under the Weather

Smartie Artie
Tree Huggin' Artie
This is a character I designed to star in a presentation for a great company, RT Tech Software. The company designs software that monitors the efficiency of your factory operations, so "Artie"(....RT......get it?....OK!) was created to help demonstrate particular points throughout the presentation. It was a lot of fun and my first time building a presentation like this. To better understand check out the full presentation at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0poA224oi6o

Uncle Si

HEY JACK! I've heard lots of people talk about A&E's Duck Dynasty, but never started watching it until recently. My wife loves it especially. It's an entertaining show with a great cast, but this guy seems to be the favorite. Everybody loves Uncle Si!

Lots of New Stuf

The cover page for my ebook. I posted a sample or two from this alphabet learning book a while back. You can buy it on your Kindle or any device with a Kindle App for only $0.99. Its full of  alphabetically organized creatures of all types.
Here is a character from my 2nd ebook. An Ol' Seagull with many a tale about life on the deep blue. The story is about a  young seagull who moves from the town dump, to the roof of the local shopping mall in search of a better life; but what he really wants is to find the ocean.  I am hoping to have it online and available for purchase within the next few weeks.

A commission I got from my facebook challenge I blogged about last week. This one is of  2 friends of mine, with a few inside jokes from our annual bass fishing trip to Ontario
And finally, a basket of vegetables for last, haha! This was done for a mural at a local food bank.

Self Portraits

This is a self portrait inspired by what I look like in the morning. My wife would probably agree. I recently heard that the average person thinks they are 6 times better looking than they really are. So I wanted to be realistic and included my less than flattering traits...Stretched out neck on my t-shirt, big ears, puffy eyes, neck hump, hair growing wild and untrimmed all over the place, dandruff and a classic rooster tail. After I drew this I noticed an unfortunate resemblance to the guy above.

This is a self portrait I did for a challenge my buddy put me up to. He challenged me to pay my rent by the profits I could generate through cartoon commissions. So I threw it up on facebook and it has been a great success so far. Very encouraging.

Blacktip Shark

A fun shark drawing inspired by something I learned during Shark Week. After countless shows about great white's breaching and biting seal decoys; don't get me wrong, I love great whites...but really... 15 shows in a row about them attacking seal decoys...come on Discovery. Anyway, I saw a show about Blacktips and apparently they are responsible for the majority of shark attacks world wide. I included a muted version to give the underwater affect. However, I think I like the Black and white version best.

What a Beaut!

This cranky old ex-con was inspired by a guy my brother and I shoveled snow with this past winter. He was as cranky, miserable and lazy as you could imagine. After what seemed to us like 4 heart attack scares, and half a shift, he quit.
